Radium 226

Artist
Théodora Barat
Date
21.10.11

The cneai = is organizing the first screening of Théodora Barat’s film Radium 226, created as part of her artistic residency supported by the Seine-Saint-Denis Department. Radium 226 explores the Fort d’Aubervilliers, a former military site transformed into a vast construction site for real estate projects. The film is built upon the manifestations of its different historical layers: fortifications, former laboratories (where nuclear research might have caused radioactive contamination), abandoned barracks, and the foundations of new buildings. Théodora Barat will also present two unreleased films created during her off-site residency in Hong Kong in 2021: Satellite Towns – Sha Tin / 6min05, 16mm, 2021 and Satellite Towns – Tung Chung / 2min59, 16mm, 2021.
