2 RESIDENCES
Maison Flottante in Poses - Normandy
may + september 2024

cneai = Centre d’art composé, navigué, engagé, abrité, imaginé is dedicated to the production and dissemination of contemporary art. Housed at the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris, the cneai = also has a floating studio-dwelling, the Maison Flottante, moored on the banks of the Seine in Poses. The cneai = is reinventing itself as an archipelago, a network of places, like so many permanent or temporary counters, like shared or pirate zones, places of experimentation or distance. In Normandy, the Maison Flottante calls for mobility and residency in and out of urban centers, with a decentralized movement and adventurous dynamic. The cneai = also develops international programming by piloting off-site projects and supporting artists and artistic enterprises.

La Maison Flottante, a flat-bottomed boat designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec with the naval architects Denis Daversin et Jean-Marie Finot, is an espace dedicated to artistic exploration and creation located in an exceptional natural environment, at the heart of a territory focused on arts and crafts. It offers an ideal setting for reflection and production. The present call for applications is open to artists and/or craftspeople of all disciplines with a strong link to the visual arts, whose practice calls on technical know-how and/or materials related to fine crafts. During the residency, the artist and/or craftsperson will have the opportunity to work with fine crafts experts and share their know-how. Before and after the residency, the cneai team = offers tailor-made support: theoretical and critical input, professionalization, networking, etc.
