The Manual of Performative Gestures: With Ulla von Brandenburg is an invitation to explore gestures that emerge from the encounter between bodies and a visual universe. Both practical and reflective, the manual guides readers through a repertoire of gestures born from the work of Ulla von Brandenburg and the practice of her troupe of performers, Friede auf Erden.
Produced between 2025 and 2026, this handbook is the result of a study conducted by Camille Florance with Ulla von Brandenburg and three of her creative collaborators—the performers Benoît Résillot, Duncan Evennou, and Giuseppe Molino. It offers an exploration of textiles and their relationship with the body, spaces, and objects, all of which serve as partners in the performance. The book is supplemented by philosophical contributions from Barbara Formis and Jacinto Teias Lageira.
