Born in 1992, lives and works in Mulhouse and Berlin. Raphaël-Bachir Osman graduated with honors from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin and is co-director of Erratum Galerie, an artist-run-space in Berlin. He has taken part in numerous group exhibitions in Berlin and more recently, in 2019, his work was shown at the Kunstraum Riehen in Basel, at the Biennale Jeune Création Mulhouse 019 and for the Prix International de Novembre in Vitry. In 2020, he was nominated for the Emerige Révélations bursary. His multi-media work derisively questions the notion of originality and the process of creating, exhibiting and mounting a work. He plays with materials and presentation codes, combining autobiographical elements with a certain magic of the ordinary. His practice ranges from painting to installation.
